Before You Cut Them Off

Sometimes a blessing comes wrapped up in sack clothes. If we are not careful, we will throw away the blessing because of the temporary outlook.

Sack clothes are undesirable. They are not clothes that you can wear for a special occasion. You can't just attend a church service wearing them. Most people don't like being with some one who wears in an awkward way or style. They want someone who is dressed for the occasion. In the Bible, a person who wore sack clothes was not even allowed to enter into the king's palace. Those who passed by would despise him and call him all sort of names.

John the Baptist came not wearing like everyone during those days. The scripture tells us that he wore clothes made of Camel skin and to top that up, he ate a different meal, which consisted of locusts.

Now Jesus knew the principles of God that it's not about what's on the outside but on the inside. Jesus could have missed the blessing of being baptized by the messenger of God if he was caught up on the temporary outlook.

If Jesus had cut off or written off John because of a temporary outlook he could have cut himself off the blessing that God had in store for him. I don't know what temporary outlook is there on the people who are carrying your blessings. It could be a bad attitude, pride or even a job they doing; but before you cut them off let me remind you that, that undesirable outlook is temporary. David changed from Shepard to King. Joseph changed from a prisoner to Prime minister of Egypt.

Yeah , I Tried...!

So there I was, you know, trying to convince God that I wasn't the right person for his blessing, I didn't deserve his favor and whatever that he thought I could become. I gave him all the reasons why I wasn't the best; I told him about my insecurities, my worst background that I don't even tell other people about. O, did he forget that I messed up where I ran away from? I told him all these to convince him that I was not the right person he can use!
